Fostering

Animal fostering involves temporarily taking in and caring for a pet. When you foster an animal, you are providing a temporary home for a pet that is waiting to be adopted. This helps the pet by giving them a second chance at life and the one-on-one attention they need and deserve. Fostering also helps prepare them for adoption by allowing them to live in a home environment, express their personality, overcome fears, and learn to trust again as a member of a loving family.

As a foster parent, you take on the responsibilities of a pet owner for a shorter period of time, including daily care, feeding, grooming, training, providing a safe place to stay, and giving lots of love and affection. Foster parents play a crucial role in helping pets get ready for successful adoption, which may involve helping them recover from an injury or surgery, providing additional training, and understanding the pet's personality to provide accurate information to potential adopters.

The costs of taking care of the foster pet are covered by the organization. This includes providing food, litter, leashes, collars, harnesses, toys, crates, and veterinary visits. The organization also covers the costs of all medical care for foster pets, including veterinary exams, vaccines, microchips, fecal tests, wormers, heartworm treatments, and spaying/neutering.

Time commitments: It's difficult to provide a fixed time frame because the adoption process varies for each pet. Some pets may be ready for adoption sooner than others, and it's impossible to predict how long it will take. We need committed fosters who are willing to care for a pet until they find their forever home.

Our team is always available to assist and provide you with tips and tricks to ensure everything goes as smoothly as possible. Whether you have questions about training or other concerns, we are here for you 24/7.
